I am the founding Executive Director of EmpowerKidz, a brain training learning center for children to achieve, enhance, empower and optimize their cognitive skills. I am a passionate learning facilitator for young children. I have a doctorate in learning disabilities from the University of Delhi, India. I have certifications in the Orton Gillingham Multi-Sensory Literacy Strategies under the International Multisensory Structured Language Education Council, IMSLEC (USA) as well as with Ortion Gillingham Academy. My Educational Therapist certification from UC Santa Cruz helped me culminate all my experience of working with children with learning differences to a professional level and be a member of the Association of Educational Therapists.I have been working with young children (5 years to 13 years) for over 20 years now. I also did my advanced level certification in SOI systems cognitive skills training program. My tutoring sessions with children are a unique blend of cognitive skills training along with remedial education for phonics, reading, spelling and/or math. All my sessions are based on multi-sensory teaching strategies and are customized depending on the needs and evaluations for each student. I try to keep my sessions interactive through a variety of activities and fun games. Phonics, spelling rules, comprehension skills, sight words, are my strong skill areas to work with students along with improving their memory skills, processing skills, evaluation skills, problem-solving and critical thinking skills. I want to reach out to the students to fill in the gaps of their learning to optimize their learning potential through my experience and qualifications. I want to work with parents to help the students reach their potential and be successful lifelong learners.
