For decades, industrial wastewater treatment was viewed strictly as a cost of doing business, a permit requirement to satisfy and nothing more. That view is changing fast. As water costs climb, disposal fees rise, and environmental regulations tighten, manufacturers are discovering that the same systems built to keep them in compliance can also cut operating costs significantly, sometimes enough to pay for the equipment itself within a year or two.
