The portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines will reopen for pilgrims on 7 May 2019 on the auspicious occasion of Akshay Tritiya, it was announced on Saturday. Suresh Semwal, president of Gangotri temple committee said that the reopening ceremony will take place for two days, beginning May 6.
