Upper Mustang Trek
The Upper Mustang Trek, north of the Annapurna district at an altitude of 4000m, is a physically and socially distinct area of the Tibetan cultural region. The valleys are barren and dry, with unique rock formations holding many monasteries high in the stone faces. Upper Mustang is a restricted area, and visitors are permitted with entry permits. Upper Mustang is one of the few remaining regions where one can see untouched Tibetan culture.
