'Munsiyari' means a 'place with snow'. Munsiyari is a tiny hamlet nestled in the Kumaon Himalayas in Pithoragarh district in the Hill state of Uttarakhand. Wedged in between the borders of India, China and Nepal, this is the last road head on the Indo- Tibet border. Munsiyari lays on the entrance of Johar valley and falls en route the ancient trade route between from Tibet. Hotels in Munsiyari are a picturesque valley and are fast becoming a tourist attraction.
