A lot of Vietnamese's activities are often started with "eating" - "ă n": ă n uố ng (drinking), ă n ở (living), ă n mặ c (dressing), ă n nói (speaking), ă n họ c (study), ă n ngủ (sleeping), ă n nằ m (sleeping with together), etc. To calculate the time, Vietnamese also take the eating and planting to measure.
