We spend most of our lives outside of the traditional classroom and our time in the formal classroom is rarely (if at all) allocated to real world issues such as racism, climate change, and mass incarceration. So, when do we teach about critical social issues? What pedagogical approaches and learning environments are most effective for promoting pro-social attitudes and behaviors? What attitudes are necessary to foster a more sustainable and inclusive future?
